A ventilated walling system is also an option to address high heat loads on some external walls, especially east and west facing. In this system the external face material is fixed to provide ventilation space between it and the insulated leaf, further reducing build up of unwanted heat (result of radiation). A skin of reflective foil is fixed over the outside of the insulated leaf, which reduces radiation and provides weathering behind the ventilation space.
