To moderate seasonal and daily temperature fluctuations, high thermal mass materials are used where appropriate in floor slabs and internal walls. External walls are preferably constructed from an internal leaf of mass material and an external leaf of insulation (reverse brick veneer) – reducing the amount of heat or cold impinging on the internal mass.
